What is MemorySafe?
MemorySafe is YesVideo’s new add-on feature that digitally archives YesDVD® videos and enables easy online viewing and sharing. Once customers have converted their video, film, slides or photo prints to DVD using the YesDVD service, they can access their videos on a private and secure website. Why is digital archive important?
Converting analog videos, slides and photo prints to DVD makes them easier to view while protecting those memories from further degradation. However, as with any physical medium, DVDs are still susceptible to loss and damage.
Digital archiving stores the transferred footage electronically. In the unfortunate case of loss or damage, the footage can be easily recovered.
Digital archiving also makes it possible to convert the footage onto the next popular viewing formats.
Which DVDs are MemorySafe-enabled?
YesDVDs ordered at any
Bartell Drugs,
CVS/Pharmacy or
Walgreens location on or after November 1, 2009 automatically include 30 days of free MemorySafe access.
If the back of the YesDVD case displays a Screening Room Code, then 30 days of free MemorySafe access has been included.
DVDs that were produced by other transfer companies and rights-protected DVD movies are not compatible with MemorySafe.
What is YesDVD?
YesDVD is YesVideo's easy and convenient service that converts consumers' home videos, movie film reels, slides and photo prints to Hollywood-style DVDs. This service is available at 24,000 retail locations nationwide, including Bartell Drugs, Costco, CVS/Pharmacy, Lewis Drugs, Rite Aid, Ritz Camera, Sam's Club, Walgreens and Walmart.
What's included in the free trial of MemorySafe?
For 30 days, customers may view the three Music Video highlights and the first three chapters of the YesDVD, order additional YesDVD copies, and invite their friends and family to view these previewed portions of the YesDVD at no charge.
What's included in the MemorySafe subscription?
During the 30-day free trial period, customers have the option to purchase a MemorySafe subscription. The one year subscription activates the digital archive, while unlocking online access to the remaining DVD chapters.
With the subscription, customers may view and share the entire DVD online and order copies of that YesDVD title at any time.
Without this subscription the free trial will expire and the YesDVD title will be removed from MemorySafe.
How does MemorySafe help families organize their video memories?
Families can easily access their full collection of YesDVDs in MemorySafe's Memory Manager. Generations of family memories that were originally recorded on videotapes, reels and slides can all be organized into one online library which makes sorting and viewing a breeze.
About MemorySafe Privacy and Security
YesVideo takes privacy and security very seriously. MemorySafe's online videos are not available for public viewing. A unique Screening Room Code is created per YesDVD title, limiting online access to the owner of that YesDVD. Only the owner may invite friends and family to view the videos.
To ensure the security of every YesDVD, each title archived with MemorySafe is stored in two separate secure locations. This double back-up safeguards against damage to the digital data.
